The distribution of the 22 units, over the three years of the
B.Sc. degree course, shall be as under:
FIRST YEAR
(7 units)

available to the FYBSc, with three subjects, each subject carrying two
units.
6 Units of Science discipline, and
1 Unit of Foundation course
SECOND YEAR
(7 units)
A student shall offer 3 units each, in two subjects, from the
subjects chosen in the First Year.
6 Units of Science discipline and
1 Unit of Foundation Course.
For the First and Second Years, each unit in case of an

subjects offered in the Second Year, or three units each, in any two of
the Science subjects offered in the Second Year, or three units in any
one of the Science subjects and three units in Biochemistry.
6 Units of Science discipline and
2 Units of Applied Component
For the Third Year, the experimental science subject for 6
Units will carry four papers of 100 marks each and four practicals of 50
marks each.
Each experimental science subject for 3 Units will carry two
papers of 100 marks each and two practicals of 50 marks each.

COURSE COMBINATIONS
A student for the B.Sc. degree course is required to offer 18
Units (6 Units in each year) in Science disciplines.
The choice of major/s
will be decided at the beginning of SYBSc. & the Third Year B.Sc., when
Heads of Departments will interview the students after reviewing the
attendance and performance in their First and Second Year terminal
examinations. The College
will not hold itself responsible if students are not granted the choice
of their major(s) in their Second and Third Year B.Sc., nor if students
have to leave the College because their performance does not satisfy the
minimum requirements laid down by Heads of Departments to which they
seek admission.
In any given year:
-
Where three subjects
are mentioned, it means that each subject is of 2 Units (2+2+2)
-
Where two subjects are
mentioned, it means that each subject is of 3 Units (3+3)
-
Where only one subject
is mentioned, it means that subject alone is of 6 Units
